PROFILE
Mr. Adil has more than twenty (20) years of experience in diverse settings, ranging from structuring complex transactions to hard core commercial litigation and arbitration. He started his legal career in the year 2000 as an intern and then as an associate in Bokhari Aziz & Karim, a well reputed corporate, commercial and banking law firm in Lahore where he did extensive legal research, conducted due diligence, assisted in drafting and negotiation of commercial and finance contracts, advised and represented a wide range of clientele including various TNCs.
In November 2002, Mr. Adil joined the Judicial Service of Lahore High Court and served as a Civil Judge cum Judicial Magistrate at Lahore until September 2005. After award of Chevening Scholarship (2005-06), he did his LLM in International Economic Law from University of Warwick, UK and joined Private Power & Infrastructure Board in May 2007. At present, Mr. Adil is posted as Director General Law and advises PPIB and other power sector entities on policy, law, regulatory affairs and corporate commercial law issues, negotiates and drafts project finance agreements and monitors and advises in conduct of litigations and international arbitration matters.
Mr. Adil has also received specialized trainings from highly reputed institutes such as Leiden University in collaboration with Permanent Court of Arbitration at Hague, Netherlands (International Arbitration), Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad (Judicial Training as Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate), IBA Karachi (Project Management), Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) UK (Mediation), Pakistan Institute of Management (“Accounting Principles and Practices”, Financial Analysis: Concepts and Techniques”, “Contract Management” etc.)
Mr. Adil’s core area of expertise is legal aspects of project/infrastructure & corporate finance, privatization, policy formulation for energy & power sector, litigation and commercial arbitration.
Mr. Adil is enrolled as an Advocate High Court and is CEDR (UK) Accredited Mediator.
In his spare time, Adil loves to travel, enjoys music and reads books on literature, political economy, history, philosophy etc.
