Mr. Shah Jahan Mirza has been
appointed as Managing Director of PPIB on 21st September 2015. Prior to
that, he was given the additional charge of MD PPIB in addition
to his own duties as
Executive Director
Finance & Policy at PPIB on 15th September 2014.
Mr. Mirza has a wide-ranging exposure and experience in
Projects' Evaluation, Development and Financing. Before joining PPIB
in July 2003 he has served in various organizations including Private Power Cell
of Ministry of Water & Power (present PPIB), General Manager
Projects Planning in a large industrial group, Financial Analyst in
Project Finance Department of a bank and as an independent
consultant.

Mr. Mirza is a distinction holder in MSc Investment Management from
UK as well as position holder in MBA (Finance) from University of
Punjab, Lahore. He has also completed Diploma examinations of
Institute of Banker in Pakistan, with first position.
Mr. Mirza has
very good knowledge and experience in the private power since he
has worked as Financial Analyst at Private Power Cell during 1991-94
under contract with International Resources Group (A USA based
international firm which worked as consultant to USAID/ Government
of Pakistan on Private Sector Power Project). Mr. Mirza made
valuable contributions in formulation of Private Power
Generation Policy of 1994, including development of bulk power
tariff, its escalation/indexation procedures and standardized
security package (Implementation, Power Purchase and Fuel Supply
Agreements). He has also worked as independent consultant in the
private power sector and has extensive experience of carrying out
feasibility studies, financial
modeling, tariff structuring and projects' evaluations. Before
taking over as Managing Director of PPIB, his
core duties as Executive Director Finance and Policy included looking after the financing and policy related issues
of the IPPs as well as accounting and financial management functions
of PPIB.
